Vintage Camper Reno: the end

If I had known what I know now… heck, I’d probably do it again anyway.

I love how it turned out! So cute and a pretty good amount of storage for this size camper. The table folds down to provide a twin sized bed and the bench on the opposite side folds out to another twin sized bed.

Easy Fabric Pumpkins

I love pumpkins 🎃 If I could afford it, I’d have a wagon full to decorate with. For some reason, I can’t seem to grow them in my garden. Soooo- I’m making my own.

I used balls of thread but you can also use toilet paper. You can use squash stems or branches for the stem. I love these fun and easy colorful pumpkins!

The floors are on the wall!

Between the heat, thunderstorms and a horrible sunburn I am slowly making progress on my camper.

After finishing the cabinets and hardware, I started the flooring. It changes the whole feel already. Bye bye 80’s.

I’ve decided to install the peel and stick vinyl flooring to the one wall that the kitchen is on. I ❤️ the texture it’s adding to the space.

I thought that the adhesive on the flooring would be enough but I ended up having to use a couple of caulking tubes of E6000 glue. I used painters tape on the seams to hold it all in place. Nothing is ever as easy as I think it’s going to be🙄

I’ve just ordered the foam cushion inserts and bought the fabric for covering them. So excited! BUT FIRST- let’s get some walls and a bench/bed up. It’s starting to look like a camper✨

Unfurling: a creative bookshare, no.4

I spent Christmas break in the studio experimenting and playing and getting messy- it was the best.

The next section of Unfurling focuses on backgrounds. This is where my hoarding comes in handy. I have tons of paper ephemera waiting to be used for just the right project. I loved decoupaging the pieces on, covering them with paint, and then uncovering them again! It’s all about the layers.

They are so beautiful on their own but add so much to a piece as the starting point.

Unfurling: a creative bookshare, no. 3

I am loving Christmas break and in the studio pretty much all day everyday. It feels so good just to experiment and play without a destination for the end piece.

Still practicing my portraits. Much better than the last. I need a tabletop easel. The perspective is so different sketching and painting while the work is flat on the table than when you look at it upright.

Painting my hubs was my best attempt, yet. One thing I wish the book would elaborate on is blending and brushes to use. Round, flat, big, small…

The next few pages are on backgrounds, the fun and free stage!
